The Subbies family is mourning the loss of a magnificent lady and servant of the game, with the recent passing of Jan Tricker.
Jan, or 'Mrs T' as she was affectionately known, was the bedrock of Manly Savers Rugby Club - a legendary and beloved figure who, every year since 1983, held various club roles such as gear steward, Manager, Secretary, Treasurer, President and Registrar.
Jan washed the jerseys and ran the canteen and BBQ for as long as anyone can remember, supplying lollies, half time oranges and post-match hot dogs at her own cost.
But it was the love and care she showed to players off the field that made her the spiritual mother of several generations of Savers players.
For over 50 years, Janice Tricker also gave her time and energies to numerous charities. Her impact on the Manly community was lovingly and wonderfully recounted and honoured at her packed funeral service last Thursday.
To Jan's family, particulary her son 'Sticks', and to all her beloved Manly Savers players, we pass on our deep sympathy and best wishes.
