MESSAGE FROM UNION CHAIRMAN
It is with great pride that I announce that Mark Green, our Union's Executive Director for the last 18 years, has accepted a new role as NSW Rugby's General Manager of Community Rugby.
In his new role Mark will be responsible for all levels of NSW Rugby outside the professional game and this promotion recognises the outstanding work Mark has done for NSW Rugby, and for Suburban Rugby in particular.
As a Union we can take great pride that such an important position should be filled by one of our own. All Suburban Clubs owe Mark a tremendous debt of gratitude for all the work he has done for the Union over a very long period of time and we wish him all the very best in his new position.
While the new job necessitates Mark's formal departure from the Suburban Rugby staff we know that he will maintain his support of Subbies, as we make up such a substantial part of NSW Community Rugby.
I am also pleased to announce that Tim Richards will become the new Executive Director of Suburban Rugby and, as part of our Union's continuing agreement with NSW Rugby, he will also take on the role as Head of Competitions. Tim will be providing advice and direct support to all competitions in NSW. In this additional role Tim will report to Mark, continuing their long and close working relationship in rugby competition management.
Kerry Brady and Susan Stenning will continue to look after Juniors. Matt Kellahan will manage the Premiership Competition, a role he has been acting in while Lisa Kane was on maternity leave. Lisa will now take on a new, dual role as NSW Rugby’s Government Relations and Club Development Manager, reviving her involvement with Suburban Clubs. An additional staff member will provide administrative support for Tim and Matt and will be employed as soon as possible.
The Subbies Board does not see any significant changes for Suburban Clubs and their interaction with the Union. Tim Richards will still be your main point of contact and your Divisional Representatives on the Board are also available to you.
We hope you join the Subbies Board in congratulating all of the staff members in their new roles and will join with them in working to help Rugby to be as good as it can be.
Queries re the staff changes should be directed to Tim Richards.
