Former long-serving Subbies Chairman, Paul Timmins, was last night voted as the Union's latest Life Member.
Those attending the AGM unanimously endorsed Paul's nomination, put to the meeting by Subbies Patron Dan Moore, and wholeheartedly seconded by the Union's Board.
After playing in the bush with Condobolin and Mitchell College, 'Timmo' joined Old Ignatians' RFC in 1986. He finished playing in 2007, with eight premierships under his belt and a long, successful stint as Club President. He was awarded Life Membership of Old Ignatians in 1999.
In 2003, Paul joined the Subbies Board, serving as Treasurer from 2006 to 2009. Then followed an eight year stint as Suburban Rugby's Chairman, during which Paul led the huge reform of enacting Subbies' amateur status.
In addition to his work with Suburban Rugby, since 2009 Paul has been a board member of NSW Rugby and the Waratahs.
In the midst of a very busy professional career, and with a young family, Timmo has devoted countless hours to playing and administering a game he truly loves. Subbies Rugby has been the beneficiary of his dedication, passion and expertise and we are delighted to recognise his contribution by naming him as our 18th Life Member.
Paul, congratulations and thank you.
